Kate Wharton
Founder/CEO
My name is Kate Wharton, and I am the founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization My Holiday Fairy. As CEO, I am responsible for managing My Holiday Fairy’s overall operations. I started this nonprofit hoping to bring magic into the lives of children in need during the holiday season. I thought to myself, what can we do to help those in need? Why not create a nonprofit that helps bring joy and love to children? Everyone deserves a little Holiday Fairy Magic!
I am a junior at La Jolla High School in San Diego, California. I play varsity tennis on a Division 1 team for my high school and am an administrative assistant at Van Clief & Van Clief LLP in La Jolla, California. On weekends, I participate in autocross events for San Diego Sports Car Club of America and BMW Car Club of America and I also volunteer with La Jolla Loves Pets Foundation.
With My Holiday Fairy, I have been able to combine my experience in project management, marketing, and community engagement to bring my vision to life. I value hard work, resilience, and empathy, and I am confident that the amazing people on my team each carry these values. Under my leadership, My Holiday Fairy has impacted countless families and has grown to become a recognized and respected organization in the community. I truly believe in my team and am certain that we will make the holidays amazing for the children in San Diego and Dallas.

I am a current Junior at Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas. During the week, I tutor students ages 12-18 through a small local company by the name of Homework in a Cafe. Additionally, on weekends, I spend my mornings working at a family-owned restaurant by the name of Hemingway Brunch. Through working in both the service and education industries, I have gained the abilities to work with a team, adapt to changing environments, and problem solve. I’ve been with each of these companies for over a year which has shown me the value of having consistency, time management, and most importantly, responsibility. Through my volunteer work at the SPCA animal welfare shelter, I have seen what it truly means and feels like to give back to one’s community.
I strongly support My Holiday Fairy’s mission and am eager to begin working with the rest of the team. I hope to make a difference in the lives of the children who don’t always get to experience the cheer of the holiday seasons and am ecstatic to be sharing My Holiday Fairy with the rest of Dallas!
